8 July 1944 - He remained with the 591 in Normandy until Harbord's return from UK medical leave.
Transferred back to No.3 Para Sqdn on 7 Sept 1944.
son of Edward Blake Butler (1887-1920) and Marion (May) Forbes Oswald (c.1894-1962) (m. 1913 Anderston, Glasgow) she remarried John Thomas Baillie (-1937) in 1926 and son Edward took his step father's surname.
