Served in No.3 Parachute Squadron through D-day, and was subsequently posted to be Captain of No.3 Troop of 591 Para after heavy losses early on in Normandy.

2 Mar 1946 - 2i/c [Second in Command or Adjutant at 3 Para.]

30 Dec 1953 - relinquishes command with Honorary rank of Captain.
