Ringway Parachute Training Course 80.

On D-day he was in No.2 Troop destined for the assault on the Merville Battery, he was in Glider 28a which crash  landed at RAF Odiham, Basingstoke.

Joined the squadron in Normandy and was wounded in action, losing his leg below the knee in a land mine accident near Venlo, France. He stepped on a Schu mine according to Bernard McDonough's recollection.
