Died:

17  Jan 1945 aged 29 Le Marche Station, in attempting to clear a mine field next to the station, it was found that many of the mines were unable to be be rendered safe because their mechanisms had frozen in the harsh winter. However some had remained live and unfortunately Lt. Wade made contact with one of the live mines.

He was originally interred in a different burial ground, at Aye, Belgium and was reburied at Hotton 22nd May 1947.
Inscription on headstone reads
"How sleep the brave,
